Baby Shoes

Four women in my life (including myself!) are expecting our first babies in the next few months. As you can imagine, the sewing has been nonstop, and my favorite things to make have become these awesome little baby shoes from ithinksew
First pair in owl print with velcro closures:
Resin snap pliers arrived in the mail just in time. I think they add an extra level of cuteness to the booties. These blue ones are for my little guy:
Mushrooms & hedgehogs & turtles, oh my!

Lots of Pockets Purse

There's not much better to do on a Saturday afternoon than sew purses and watch old episodes of Felicity. My newest purse was created with Keyka Lou's Lots of Pockets Tote pattern. I changed the interior pockets, and added a zipper pocket as well. It was a great pattern, I recommend it - pick it up on etsy.com.

Wallets

I found a great tutorial for these wallets and now I can't stop making them! Each wallet has 2 large pockets, 6 credit card slots, and a zipper pocket for change. It doesn't take much fabric to make them so they're great things to make with leftover scraps from other projects. I used heavyweight cotton for the outside and mid-weight cotton on the inside with interfacing on both large pieces. The closure is a magnetic clasp.

Phil's Shirt

My boyfriend is really tall (6'7 to be exact) and also thin as a rail. he has a super hard time finding clothes that fit well, generally settling for XXLs to compensate for the length but which end up being super boxy on him. So here is his belated valentines day gift - a homemade shirt that is tailored to his measurements. It was pretty hilarious to make: i used the medium size and added 3 1/2 inches length to it. needless to say, i think i opened up a can of worms because it fits so well!
